Just Looking Antiques is curated by Kathy Moses Shelton. Kathy has been a newspaper reporter, a museum director and a historic preservationist. Her background, coupled with her knowledge and exposure as an art and antiques dealer since 1996, uniquely qualifies her to assemble appealing objects to get you Just Looking.

Press, Media Appearances & Speaking Engagements

Kathy has been a guest on Martha Stewart Living Television regarding early American silver and was an invited speaker on Southern folk and outsider art at Color, an art show sponsored by Oprah Winfrey. She is the author of the preeminent book on Southern folk and outsider art, Outsider Art of the South (published by Schiffer Ltd. as Kathy Moses), written for collectors and those who would like to learn about this exciting field. Kathy also wrote Helen LaFrance Folk Art Memories, with Bruce Shelton and a foreword by Lee Kogan. Most recently, Kathy appeared in the award-winning 2019 documentary Helen LaFrance Memories and was quoted in the artist's obituary in The New York Times.

Shaping Major Private American Art Collections

From 1996 to 2009, she was co-owner of Nashville and Palm Beach-based Shelton Gallery & Fine Silver. As such, she was instrumental in building many important private American art collections and placing works of art in museums. She founded Just Looking in 2009.

Bringing Stories of Southern Art to Life

Kathy is also available for speaking engagements on contemporary self-taught Black artist Helen LaFrance and on contemporary Southern folk and outsider art. She has been quoted as an expert in these fields and in Southern coin silver in Southern Accents and other publications.Â
